The Holiday Inn Express in Burlington consistently receives positive feedback, particularly praising its friendly and accommodating staff, cleanliness, and convenient location. While some reviewers note minor maintenance issues and concerns about the pool and hot tub, the overall experience is considered positive, especially regarding breakfast and initial check-in service.
What an absolutely lovely hotel experience! My kids are at a camp in Burlington for 2 days so we opted to spend the night and booked at the Holiday Inn express because of its pool and breakfast. Room was clean and spacious. Hotel is updated and welcoming. Pool was warm and swimable. Kids were happy! Cookies in the afternoon in the main lobby were a really plus for them. The staff that we interacted with during our stay sets this location apart from hotels we've stayed in in the past. Amber on Monday was welcoming, bubbly and seemed to genuinely want to make our stay a great one. She was able to checked in early because the kids were at camp and I needed somewhere to hang out. She also offered a late check out for the following day. Kids were happy with our stay and so was I!
What an enjoyable stay! The staff here are so kind and accommodating and seem to be genuinely happy to be here and to interact with guests. The room was great, lovely lighting and gorgeous bathroom. Pool and hot tub were so great to use. Great breakfast too. It was a perfect little getaway.
Definitely can’t beat the price here and overall not a bad hotel. Clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was good, coffee at breakfast was delicious. One of the best hotel coffees I’ve had. Rooms could use some updating in the bathroom, room carpet, and heat/ac unit. The heating unit was obnoxiously loud and despite turning it down to 60 kept the room at what felt like 72. Ended up just shutting it off completely. The hot tub and pool looked they could use some cleaning as well.
I stayed here on January 30th and had a great stay. The staff helped me sign up for the rewards program I really should of already signed up for already and was incredibly friendly and pleasant. Parking lot was clear of snow and had adaquate number of spaces, making finding a spot close easy. The room was clear and had nice indirect lighting in the bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom fan works well not just a vent like at most hotels. The bed was comfortable even though I usually sleep on a tempurpedic and I slept well. The Manny pillows provided were firm synthetic fill and did not go flat easily(which I liked) along side some feather pillows that went flat easily, two of each type per bed, I have a two queen bed standard room. Heat/AC system was quiet and did not overly disturb me while sleeping on a 0° night and was easily adjusted by the wall thermostat. The hotel itself was quiet, with a very quiet elevator and thick wall preventing most sounds from other rooms.
Well everyone knows that the checkin for is the most pivotal and important single event of entering a new hotel. I thought the HIE of Scranton was incredible, but the check in, I received here in Burlington was by far, the most sincerest and fully encompassing the welcoming gratitude this hotel was giving .. the lady took the time before I arrived to locate my rewards information and already apply to my room. Also , during this very quick check-in, she was very thorough with informing me of all the hotels amenities and services. The lady preparing the breakfast everyday was so friendly and hospitable. Seeing her and sharing morning pleasantries was as important as good food to start a day. The rooms were nice, clearly updated but they didn't go overboard.. lol . The shower was great, had great water pressure and a nice shower head to give wide volume of coverage. The gym was perfect 3 treadmills 2 benches and dumbells up to 50lbs. The pool was amazing and I could stay on the hot tub the whole night. I would have loved to stay there for the entire holiday season!!! But Vermont is a horrible place, people are ignorant, self righteous, and have no consideration for people or vehicles around them. Just as a bonus we had to revisit South Burlington and we were created with the same wonderful reception. Same rewards already logged in. Great service ,so friendly. They remember us and were do glad to see us. The breakfast lady is amazing she make breakfast an experience, great to start the day off on such a positive foot. Thank you HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS SHOULD TRAIN THEIR OTHER HOTEJS YSUING THIS LOCATION AS THE PRIME EXAMPLES OF HOW TO DO THINGS
We would definitely stay here again when visiting Burlington. Amber, the front office manager, was the first to greet us and she was very welcoming, had great tips on where to eat and shop! She helped us several times throughout the weekend with minor things but not once did she seem inconvenienced. A rarity these days with customer service. The room was clean, the breakfast had multiple options, the location was excellent. We only rated it a 4?? because, for us, the pool was brisk and the hot tub was not that hot. For some that may not be an issue. We'll be back next year for the lights at Shelburne Museum. ??
I checked in with Amber tonight and I wanted to say how wonderful she is. It’s been a tough couple months for me going through a personal matter - her smiling face, warm personality and kind spirit is/was so uplifting my upon check in and when I needed a few items (conveniently available in the lobby area). The kindness and compassion are top level and so appreciated! I don’t always write reviews, but Amber is so inviting and sweet, I had to take the time! Room, common areas were all very clean and spacious! Will definitely stay here again!

Was a decent hotel. Rooms were clean, staff were super kind and helpful. A bit dated for a Holiday Inn. The major thing bringing this down was the hot tub was ice cold. They just put a 'closed' sign on the tub. They told me this was a common issue. The pool room itself was freezing and the pool looked worn and not terribly clean anyway. This was just a disappointment as we were expecting the pool and hot tub as an amenity for our stay. If you are just looking for a clean room and hot breakfast, I would recommend! Just don't expect a pool/spa experience.
We had a great stay here! Price was excellent! Room was clean and spacious. Front desk Shawn was helpful and friendly, Carrie did a fabulous job with breakfast, keeping everything full and fresh. She was very attentive. So convenient for everything we wanted to do!
