The Hilton Garden Inn Burlington Downtown offers a prime location for exploring Burlington's attractions, with recent renovations enhancing the rooms. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistent service, cleanliness concerns, and issues with hotel amenities and surrounding safety. While praised for location and staff friendliness, some guests experienced problems with room conditions, breakfast quality, and a noticeable lack of security.
Ideally located between UVM and Downtown Burlington, this is a great hotel. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and helpful with guests needs. The rooms have been tastefully decorated. Our bathroom showed signs of wear, but we had no problems with it. Would recommend you stay here.
The rooms were great, indoor pool is small but perfect for kids to burn off some steam. The location is great. Walkable to almost all Burlington hot spots. We had a tough experience with the breakfast as it took forever to get our food and then the orders were wrong. Not sure if it was an off day or what. We were not the only ones running into that problem.
I took my mother to Vermont for a bucket list trip for snow on a fun mother daughter trip. The stay was mediocre and the service was poor. It’s a shame because the location was wonderful. We stayed a week in two rooms. Eating at the hotel everyday and spending money at the little shop everyday as well. We checked out a day early at the front desk ant 3:30am on the way to the airport. When I look at my app the next morning for my receipt I find she never checked us out. We also had to cancel one room for one night due to an error in booking. Three weeks later and I’m still fighting for my money. Now Dean is asking me to send my personal bank statements via email to the manager Trevor supposedly to prove I ever paid for the rooms. Wow Sounds like someone is up to no good. The staff was a mixed bag. The morning waitress at the bar and grill was amazing, the cleaning staff was great but unfortunately I have nothing positive to remark for anything else. We travel a lot, all over the world and I use Hilton hotels a fair amount when not staying in local AirBnb’s. In all I would say you need to avoid this place. Such a shame. Great location though so you can always take your chances and your bank statements…
This is such a perfect location. You can walk just about anywhere you want to go in Burlington. And the recent renovation make the rooms feel clean and fresh. (Can’t beat the extra large tvs!) Nice lobby and nice service. Pool was tiny- but didn’t deter my kids from taking a swim and enjoying. They also provided a large and comfy roll away bed for my 5 year old.
Great place! Very clean. Loved the renovations. Armory is a nice place to eat. We stayed over Thanksgiving weekend. Nice location. Friendly attentive staff. Special thanks to Teddy at the front desk, he went way above and beyond to make our stay awesome! And an error on my receipt was addressed immediately. The bed is firm but the pillows are a bit too soft.
This hotel is so cute, warm and inviting from the moment we walked in. The lobby is beautiful. We ate Thanksgiving dinner in the restaurant- so good and fun vibe. It's so convenient to all shopping and restaurants. Really relaxing weekend. Thank you to all staff working so hard to make it a great weekend. Will be back. Valet staff was terrific too. Great job!!
The staff are great the lobby looks fantastic and it seemed promising until I got to my room. Comfort Inns and Best Westerns have better rooms. The beds were ok at best but the pillows were terrible. Clocks in the room were an hour off weeks after the time change. The worst part by far was the food from the restaurant in the lobby. $17 for 6 tiny, highly over cooked wings. Two $34 steak meals that didn’t come with what was on either of the menus on display. We were told they were “old menus”. The steaks themselves were terrible. Neither of us could eat them. I expected more from the name Hilton. I definitely would not stay again or ever recommend it to anyone else.
Decent enough hotel. I expect more from a Hilton though. Cold coffee in the morning (I would have used the Keurig in the room but it had mold or dirt in it, no idea), no continental breakfast, $3 water bottles, $4 detergent, $24 for someone else to park your car ?. Fitness center was great. The room isn't any better than the Hampton or Best Western. That's about it.
This seemed like the perfect hotel until it was time to get some much needed sleep. I became incredibly congested, had a horrible sore throat and a banging headache. Turns out, the air filter in the room which was easily accessible, looked like it hadn’t been changed in a very, very long time (See photo). I don’t say this because I want anyone to get in trouble. It was otherwise a nice place. For over $400 a night however, that’s just not acceptable to me. I mentioned it upon checkout and showed the photos I took. They did refund my $24 valet parking fee, which I appreciated. (Valet parking is totally necessary unless you want to search for street parking). Again, not looking to harm any employees, I was just expecting better.
The positives: the hotel is in a great location and most of the staff are welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, my stay fell far short of expectations. I waited over an hour past the 4pm check-in time, only to see a colleague who checked in after me promptly offered a room. When I finally received mine, it was an accessible room I hadn’t requested. Normally not an issue, but the room was poorly cleaned—mold in the shower and hairs on the bathroom floor. Pillows smelled like they were not freshly washed. I was short on time and could not request a change. The worst part came at 5:45am, when I was awakened by loud banging noises from below my room. This went on for ~30 mins. I was so alarmed, I phoned the front desk and they seemed unprepared to address it and said nothing would be looked at until engineers arrived at 8am. Needless to say, my sleep was ruined before a business meeting. As a returning Hilton Honors member, I will not be staying here again. Just a huge disappointment and really ruined my trip.
