Main highlight: Mahagani at the lazy goat tavern. I was in no mood for subpar food. She was there with multiple suggestions and ways to make sure my food would come out to my liking. I was gratefully not disappointed. She was very knowledgeable of the staff's cooking styles and made great recommendations on ways I could tailor my selection. She was articulate and set a great vibe. The rooms are cozy. I did have what looked like dog hair in my bed (Room prepared by Brianna). The staff took care of it so fast, they weren't even interested in the issue with previous room. I've been here for many years and this was rare to encounter. The new room prepared by Taylor made me feel way more comfortable like I normally do. The grounds are amazing great way to spend some time outside. I absolutely love the bikes that are available for rent. There's so many wonderful things about this place. I would always recommend a stay here!

I had a great facial service with Baylee and pedicure with Victoria. Baylee was personable, professional, and very thorough in the dermaplane service. Victoria is one year into her career, but you would never know based on her demeanor and the excellent service she gave. The spa is beautiful: outdoor hot tub, steam room, beautifully clean and spacious with a great duck confit quesadilla lunch at the end. Perfect rainy day. Thank you everyone

We had an amazing birthday dinner at the Tavern. The staff were amazing, seated us last minute after coming in from out of town, remembered us from a prior visit. The food was local, delicious, and beautiful. They didn’t rush us and we had a wonderful time.

Back for our 2nd visit to The Essex, we had the most relaxing stay along with our friends. Our morning at the Spa was again such a restoring and energizing treat! Our massages from Jackson and JD were superb at relieving us of our aches and pains. Both on-site restaurants were great-The Goat Tavern for drinks/lunch and The Junction for a delectable dinner. Servers Marissa and Mahogany were so fun while providing excellent service. The staff throughout the resort was so friendly. We loved exploring The Essex Experience shops right down the road. This getaway was just the relaxing Vermont vibe we were looking for.

Extraordinary in every way. Extremely clean and well maintained. Staffed with the most accommodating and friendly people I have ever come across. They have goats , they allow dogs, the morning coffee is delicious. The cheese plate at the tavern is delicious. The fancy restaurant was incredible. I had the lasagna that was on special it was unlike any other lasagna in texture and taste. The cherry on top is that they allow dogs!

A very beautiful hotel with an extremely warm and welcoming service. The staff truly care about your comfort. All the amenities are available: a swimming pool, a pool area, restaurants, and a gift shop. Our dog was also wonderfully welcomed. James and Leticia were very welcoming and helpful. ??

?????????? Beautiful resort with an incredible spa and a fantastic on-site dining experience. The rooms were spacious, cozy, and the fireplace added such a perfect touch—especially for relaxing after the spa. Dinner at the Junction was delicious with great ambiance and attentive service. The Goat Tavern had good local craft beers and liveky ambience. Everything felt calm, luxurious, and thoughtfully done. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!

We had a quick but wonderful overnight stay at the Essex Resort & Spa on our way to ski some Northern Vermont resorts. The property is beautiful and the room we were in was large and spacious. It almost felt more like a studio suite then a double queen room. In any event we found our new go to spot up in the Burlington area. This establishment is definitely one of the nicest hotels to stay at in the state of Vermont. We highly recommend it here!

Whirlpool tub in our room was amazing! The spa and spa treatments were incredibly relaxing. Dinner at the Junction was to die for! Top notch service from Kimberly and sitting at the Chef’s Table made it a fun and extra special experience. The Lazy Goat Tavern was fun and delicious as always. Craig and Gary made our dining experiences memorable.

We loved having Leticia! She was truly wonderful! Exceptional service. Our server was polished, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful, ensuring every detail was handled with care. Their presence made the entire experience feel effortless and special. Truly top-tier service.
